Silent Way by A. Febriana S.

SILENT WAY
We need to know for the first, that the teaching method was invented by Caleb Gattegno.
Learning hypotheses underlying Gattegno method are:
1. Learning facilitated if the learner acquire or invent new things compared to remembering and repeating what is to be learned.
2. Learning facilitated by using physical objects.
3. Learning facilitated by problem solving involving the material being taught.

All methods can be learned. One of them is the way Silent method. This method is unique. The uniqueness of this method is much more silent teacher. And students can gived they have any appreciation. Teachers here only plays a stimulating course, but not a lot of talk.
Students themselves who will understand what will be delivered by the teacher.
Learning System is activated by conscious intelligence. Silence is considered as the best way of learning, because the learners silence to concentrate on tasks completed and potential ways to solve it. Silence, which avoids repetition, becomes a tool for awareness, concentration, and mental readiness. In this method prefers mental awareness, and more efficient than acquiring wisdom through mechanical repetition.
This awareness can certainly be taught. When a student learn, 'consciously', awareness of one's strengths and capacity to learn to become larger. Therefore, the Silent Way stated that it is makes it easy the learning process, such as what psychologists called as Learning to learn. The series of processes that build awareness comes from the attention, use, self-improvement, and absorption. Activities of self-correction through self-awareness is what makes Silent Way different from other language learning methods.
But Silent Way is not merely a method of language teaching. Gattegno see language learning through a silent way as the return potential and strengths. Gattegno purpose is not just learning a second language, but education for individual spiritual sensitivity and strength.
The general objective is the Silent Way to teach learners how to learn a language, and the skills developed through the process of learning a foreign language or a second language can be used to learn everything else that is not yet known.
In my opinion, this method is the same as guessing a riddle. When a puzzle is revealed clearly, then we are confident and we are aware that the results are correct and can be had without a doubt.
